Cancelled: Eligibility Workshop – Cairo

Due to the ongoing demonstrations in Egypt, Inas has cancelled the eligibility workshop that was due to take place in Cairo between 4&5th February. A new date will be arranged as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience.

First medals for ID athletes at IPC World Athletics Championships

Mikela Ristoski (Croatia) has taken the first Gold medal in the F20 Class at the IPC World Athletics Championships in New Zealand. Her jump of 5.10 meters in the Long Jump secured first place ahead of Karolina Kucharczyk (Poland) who took Silver with a jump of 5.00 meters and 3rd placed Krestina Zhukova (Russia) with a jump of 4.80 meters.

The championships are the first to include athletics events for athletes with Intellectual Disability since the classification was re-instated in November 2009, and provides a first glimpse of  those athletes who might be hoping to qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games.

The event is followed by the Mens Long Jump today (26th January).

In total 25 World records and 75 Championship records have been set since the event began four days ago.

3rd Global Games

The entry handbook and details of on-line entry system are now available for the 2011 Global Games which take place in Italy. Please note that the first entry deadline is 28th February and all athletes must appear on the Inas Classification Master List no later than the final entry deadline of 30th June 2o11.

Entry details available for Open European Indoor Athletics Championships

The full entry pack is now available for the 5th Open European Indoor Athletics Championships which take place in Helsinki, Finland. The entry deadline and final date to appear on the Inas Classification Master List is 28th January 2011.

2011 Membership Fees due

Inas Member Nation fees are now due for 2011. These should be paid no later than 31st March 2011 and please be reminded that only members in good standing may enter Inas events and vote at or submit motions to the General Assembly.

Further information is now available regarding the accommodation and costs for the 3rd Inas Global Games which take place in Italy in September.

2011 Conference and General Assembly

Preliminary information and an expression of interest form is now available for the 2011 Inas Conference and General Assembly, which takes place in Canberra, Australia in April.

The deadline to register your attendance at the event is 16th January 2011.
