Inaugural meeting of Inas Asia hailed a success
The first meeting of the new Inas Asia region took place recently and was hailed as a great step forward for the organisation.
The region was created following changes to boundaries agreed at the Inas General Assembly in April which brings Inas into line with most other International Federations. The meeting elected its first Executive Committee, with Mrs Laura Ling (Hong Kong) being successfully elected to the post of President, Mr. Seyed Mohammad Kazem Vaez Mousavi (Iran) as Vice President, Mr. David Ip (Hong Kong) as General Secretary, Mr. Yu Hong SIU (Macau) as Honorary Treasurer and Mr. Hideki Arai (Japan) as Sports Director (Winter sports).
There was no election to the post of Sports Director (Summer sports).
Mrs Laura Ling (President – Inas Asia) thanked the nations present and talked about her hopes for the future. Dr Bob Price (Inas President) congratulated the region on its rapid progress in the short time since the General Assembly and looked forward to a successful partnership.
