Rowing is a fast-growing sport in the Virtus programme, offering athletes with an intellectual impairment opportunities to compete in both water-based and indoor rowing competitions.
Virtus manages the eligibility of athletes who wish to compete in rowing. All athletes listed on the Virtus master list have a recognised intellectual impairment. The organisation supports the delivery of international competitions, including world and regional events, providing pathways for athletes to compete at an elite level.
Athletes interested in high-level competition should contact their National Federation to access development programmes and competition opportunities.

History
Rowing has gradually been introduced into the Virtus sport programme as part of efforts to broaden opportunities across a wider range of sports.
