Alpine and Nordic World Championships begin
The 2011 Inas World Alpine and Nordic Skiing Championships begin today in Lans-en-Vercors in France. The snow conditions in Station lans-en-Vercors did not allow the trials to take place as planned, but the event – which takes place together with the French National Championships – goes ahead with 12 countries and more than 40 athletes competing.
A further 80 skiers will compete in the National Championships.
Event organiser and Inas Technical Officer Marc Truffaut is delighted the event is underway “The snow conditions this year made us very nervous, but now the championships have started, we can look forward to some great skiing and some excellent performances”.
Results for the event will appear on the Inas website and on the website of FFSA.
