Dave Harman 1954-2026

We are saddened to announce that Dave Harman, Virtus’ Sport Director for Swimming, passed away on Thursday 22nd November.

Dave joined the Virtus Swim Committee in 2013, eventually taking over as Sport Director in 2017, and has delivered countless competitions around the world, raising the standard of events and supporting Local Organising Committees including at three Global Games.

In addition to his Virtus role, also Dave acted as Technical Delegate to a number of other competitions, was instrumental in establishing the British Learning Disability Swimming Championships in the UK,  and delivered a number of officials training and education courses. His contribution to para swimming spans nearly 30 years.

We are deeply shocked to learn of his passing and wish to extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends. We also want to thank Dave for giving such a huge part of his life to Virtus and for all the things he has achieved for swimmers with an intellectual impairment.
